I truly enjoy the tone and composition of this, joel.

Your selective detail works very well in this piece. The least detailed part (the dress) is the largest light space of the figure, which is balanced by the darkest part (the hair) having a bit more detail... and the most detailed is the point of emotion (the face), which is centered between them.

Were those conscious choices or just felt out? Either way, kudos bro.

I definitely avoided rendering any part of the dress in this one because it had a lot of pattern which was impossible to draw. As it went along it sort of took on this glowing look that I tried to accentuate by making the face and hair darker. So, yeah, happy accidents. Thanks for the post!
